Hello to all Amherst Alumni!
I am Lynn Phillips Ramsey, a graduate of the class of 1979 and the newest President of your Amherst Central Alumni Foundation! I follow a long line of dedicated past presidents and we have one thing in common- a love for the Amherst Schools. We also share a passion to keep our alumni connected and continue the excellence in teaching, programming, materials and experiences to preserve our alma mater. All of our Foundation Board members volunteer their time to represent YOU! Please contact me if you are interested in becoming involved!
I have been a board member of the foundation for 4 years, serving as co chair of the grants committee, a member of the committee and participant in our golf tournament and most recently assisted our past president, Mark Ahrens. I also started our Amherst Central Alumni Chorale last season. It’s a joy to be in our school buildings partner with faculty and administration and see all the exciting opportunities for our students. My children, now 22 and 25 are graduates of Amherst.
The Amherst Alumni Foundation exists because of the foresight of Don Munson and Art Pankow. They wanted to keep Alumni connected, preserve memories, facilitate reunions and assist the schools in continuing the great education offered at Amherst. Our foundation attempts to keep records of our over 22,000 alumni so we can share important information- Please share email and home addresses for you, family members and classmates to assist us in keeping our records as current as possible! At my 35th reunion this summer, several people had to be alerted to our function because they has not updated their contact information! Don’t let this happen to you!
We have an exciting year planned. It is our school’s 85th birthday! We will be celebrating July 23rd-25th.
Send in class notes at any time! Donations gratefully accepted as well!
Hope to meet you all at one of our Alumni Functions.
Lynn Phillips Ramsey 1979, President
