Update on Amherst Alumni support of the Tiger’s Den Food Pantry.

“I checked in with Carolyn Catalano at the Tigers Den Food Pantry and they are so grateful for our help. They recognize that people are minimizing their trips to the grocery store but indicated that they need juice, tomato paste, spaghetti sauce and snacks to help even out their shelves.”

The Tiger’s Den is located at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 4007 Main Street, Eggertsville, NY 14226 (next to Brunners!) Mailed items can be sent to that address Attn: Carolyn Catalano/Tiger’s Den

Items can be dropped off during the following operating hours:

  • Thursday April 16th – 3pm – 7pm
  • Saturday April 25th – 9am – 1pm
  • Thursday April 30th – 3pm – 7pm

Amherst Alumni to Help Fund and Stock Tiger’s Den Food Pantry

**CLICK HERE TO READ UPDATE ON HELPING THE TIGER’S DEN FOOD PANTRY**

For three years, the Amherst Central School District has operated the “Tiger’s Den” food pantry which provides access to nutritional foods and household products for many families within the district. It has been a great success and welcome addition to our community, serving an average of 75 families per month.

Now, during this time of national crisis, with many people out of work and all of our school age children at home indefinitely – the need for this service is increasing daily. The Alumni Foundation has offered to help “ramp up” the supply chain for the Tiger’s Den – providing gift cards and needed products for the pantry shelves.

You can help during this critical time and here’s how:

Below is a list of items that “fly off the shelves” along with a list of gift card options.

GIFT CARDS TO TOPS, WEGMANS, TARGET, WALMART, PRICE RITE (THE PANTRY VOLUNTEERS WILL SHOP. THESE CAN ALSO BE MAILED DIRECTLY TO THE TIGER’S DEN)

  • SPAGHETTI SAUCE
  • TOMATO PASTE
  • FRUIT JUICE
  • CANNED SOUPS (NOT CHICKEN NOODLE OR TOMATO)
  • PASTA (ANYTHING BUT SPAGHETTI)
  • SIDE DISHES (CANNED VEGETABLES, FRUIT, ETC)
  • CEREAL (NO CHEERIOS)
  • GRANOLA BARS
  • HEALTHY SNACKS
  • CONDIMENTS LIKE KETCHUP, MAYONNAISE, SALAD DRESSIING
  • SPICES
  • PAPER TOWELS
  • SHAMPOO (ADULT AND CHILD)

YOU CAN ALSO PLACE ORDERS AT AMAZON (OR WALMART, ETC) AND HAVE THEM DIRECTLY SENT TO THE TIGER’S DEN.
