The Amherst Central Alumni Foundation Inc. announced the recipients of its 2019 Distinguished Alumni and Distinguished Educator Emeritus Awards on Wednesday, August 21, 2019.
Join us for a dinner and awards reception on Thursday, October 17, 2019 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the Reikart House/Jazzboline, Reikart Ballroom, 5010 Main Street, Snyder, NY 14226.
These are the recipients of the awards.
Distinguished Alumni Awards recipients are Jennifer Burton, Ursula Burton, Gabrielle Burton, Maria Burton, and Charity Burton of Five Sisters Productions.
Five Sisters Productions is the Los Angeles based production company that is run by these five Burton siblings and Amherst Central High School alumni. Five Sisters makes high quality and award-winning features, shorts, and commercials. Their project choices reflect their commitment to community involvement and social engagement, with focus on increasing the diversity of voices both making and being represented onscreen.
Distinguished Educator Emeritus Awards recipients are Bradley Tichenor, Amherst Central High School; Lynn Daniels, Smallwood Drive Elementary School; George Wildridge, Harlem Road Elementary School and Anton Schwarzmueller (posthumously), Amherst Middle School Principal.
Steven’s Spirit of Giving in memory of Amherst Alumnus Steven Daniels ’90, will hold a fundraiser to benefit local Cancer Research at RPCCC (former RPCI), and Steven’s Buddy Bench Project (playground/anti-bullying), on Sunday, September 8, 1-4 p.m. at the Audubon Golf Course Pavilion, 500 Maple Road, Williamsville. Zielinski; beloved mother of Dennis (Mary Lou) Zielinski; loving grandmother of Timothy (Heather), Brandon M.D. (Jennifer), Gregory and Tamra (Peter Vlasak) Zielinski; great-grandmother of Maya, Aiden and Calan; sister of Elaine (late James Sr.) Horn, late Chester (late Gertrude) Covers and the late Eugene (late Emily) Pokrywczynski; also survived by many nieces and nephews who affectionately called her Auntie Gene. Visitation Sunday, 3-7 PM at the Paul A. Kloc Blossom Chapels, inc., 4680 Clinton St. (corner Borden Rd.), West Seneca, 668-5666, where funeral will be held Monday, 8:15 AM and a Mass of Christian Burial from St. Gabriel’s Church at 9 o’clock. Genevieve was a longtime school teacher at Amherst Harlem Rd. School and a proud member of the Chopin Singing Society.
