Thank you to everyone who came out to the Amherst Central Alumni Foundation’s Educator Emeritus and Distinguished Alumni awards dinner on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the Reikart House on Main Street in Snyder. It was a great event honoring alumni and former educators who were nominated by alumni for the awards.
Distinguished Alumni Awards recipients were Jennifer Burton, Ursula Burton, Gabrielle Burton, Maria Burton, and Charity Burton of Five Sisters Productions.
Distinguished Educator Emeritus Awards recipients were Bradley Tichenor, Amherst Central High School; Lynn Daniels, Smallwood Drive Elementary School; George Wildridge, Harlem Road Elementary School and Anton Schwarzmueller (posthumously), Amherst Middle School Principal.
A special thank you to our Educator Emeritus and Distinguished Alumni Awards Committee, headed by Ginny Rusk ’71, for organizing the awards and event.
Message from High School Business Teacher Christina Evans:
I think it would be great if I had a “go-to list” of alumni who would be willing to hold an informational interview with a student when a student is interested in their particular field of work. For example, I have a student who is interested in pursuing a career as a Counselor/Therapist. She would like to meet with one so she can ask them questions about their career pathway and training required to be a Therapist and other burning questions she might have about this career.
I think it would be cool to have one of our awesome Amherst Alum who might be able to schedule a time when the student can come meet them for an informational interview.
If you think you would like to help out and be on a list of potential people to contact when a student is interested in such an experience, please would you complete the form (link below) or email Christina Evans at email@example.com.
Please contact the Amherst Alumni Office with any info you have on reunions for 2020 to post here on TigerTracks and on our alumni reunion page. We can also provide you with a contact list for your class, print mailing labels and help promote on our social media accounts.
When developing your reunion, please consider keeping the Amherst Central Alumni Foundation, Inc. in mind if your class has funds leftover from your reunion or if your class would like to make a donation to our organization. There are a variety of ways your class can do this.
To get your reunion listed, you can contact the Amherst Alumni Office at (716) 362-8259 or firstname.lastname@example.org. We are glad to help out in any way we can. The Alumni Office is located in Room 124 of Amherst Central High School.
