Last week, Stone Art Memorial completed work on the Amherst Central School’s Veterans Memorial. The memorial is located by the flag pole in front of Amherst Central High School. Thank you to everyone who donated to the Amherst Central Alumni Foundation to help fund the memorial. Also, thank you to Greg Pigeon, ACHS Principal, Tony Panella, District Superintendent, and Mark Rampado and the Amherst facilities and grounds crew, for helping the foundation coordinate the project.
A very special thank you to Lindsay Wolfe ’77 of the Amherst Central Alumni Foundation Board who worked hard to make the Veterans Memorial a reality. Here is a quote from Lindsay on the memorial, “For years to come, many will pass by and be reminded of the importance of those who served, are serving and will serve in our armed forces to maintain our freedom.”
The Alumni Foundation is planning a dedication, stay tuned for details.

Really? Nobody has ever taken the time to track the deaths of Amherst veterans? Hard to describe my disappointment.
