(by KEATON T. DEPRIEST Associate Editor, Amherst Bee) The Amherst Central Alumni Foundation will host its 15th annual Golf Classic on Thursday, July 28, at Glen Oak Golf Course, 711 Smith Road, East Amherst.
The event is being chaired by Lynn Wardour, a member of Amherst Central’s class of 1960.
Ellen Marshall, the event’s sponsorship coordinator and 1969 graduate of the district, said, “Sll friends of Amherst Central are welcome to participate” and attend the event.
“The whole reason we do it is to support the current students and teachers in any way we can,” Marshall said.
Registration will begin at 10 a.m., with lunch at 11 a.m., followed by a shotgun start for golfing at noon. The golf range will be open from 11 a.m. to noon.
Following the Golf Classic, a dinner and awards ceremony featuring raffles and silent auctions will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. The basket raffles and auctions include signed sports memorabilia and gift certificates to local establishments.
