(by KEATON T. DEPRIEST Associate Editor) The Amherst Central Alumni Chorale will perform its second annual concert, “A Salute to Show Tunes,” at 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 11, in the auditorium at Amherst High School, 4301 Main St., Amherst.
The concert will feature songs from the school’s music library, including selections from “Phantom of the Opera,” “Shrek,” “Rent,” “Chicago,” “Fiddler on the Roof” and “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.”
Lynn Phillips Ramsey, the chorale’s organizer, said the music pieces chosen for the concert encompass all generations of the high school.
“It could be a piece that members of the chorale sang when they were in school,” Ramsey said. “Plus, who doesn’t love a show tune?
