End of School Year Fundraiser

The Class of 2021 will graduate on Friday, June 25th at KeyBank Center in downtown Buffalo. In celebration of this group of seniors who will officially become Amherst Alumni, we are asking you to make a donation to the Amherst Central Alumni Foundation, Inc.

Because of the pandemic, the Foundation has cancelled its main fundraiser, the Alumni Golf Classic, two years in a row. A donation from you would help ease that loss of these funds. Our generous support from Amherst Alumni allows us to do what we do.

The foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization supporting the Amherst Central School District by engaging alumni and the community. Our donors help bridge the gap between basic funding and what Amherst students need to truly excel. Since 2003, we have given out over $110,000 in grants.

There several ways you can donate:

Donating through Facebook is easy and the Foundation receives 100% of your donation. No processing fees.

Joshua Allen ’20 – 06/01/2021

This is from GoFundMe page:

“Hi my name is Jennifer. My little brother Joshua N. Allen passed away on June 1st, 2021. He was only 20 years old. He was terribly sick for several months originally diagnosed with double pneumonia. Overtime it was discovered he had also fell victim to a very deadly disease known as HLH or Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis.

He passed away at Roswell Cancer Institute after so many weeks of fighting and showing promise. This rocked the very core of our family.

As the youngest, Joshua did not have any life insurance. Due to the extenuating costs of his home going services and the incoming medical bills it has been hard to cover all of it by our family alone.

For the sake of my mother, my older brother, and the rest of our grieving family we are willing to accept any help that is offered.

Joshua was always the life of the party and his energy could light up a room. I think it’s best to give him a home going that reflected how he truly lived: big and bold.”

Alumni Night at the Operetta Goes Virtual for 2021

Posted by amherstalumnioffice on 2021-06-03
Posted in: Events, News. Tagged: Alumni, Amherst Central High School, Operetta. Leave a comment

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 72nd Amherst Operetta will be going virtual. While it’s disappointing not to see the performance in person this year, this a unique opportunity for alumni near and far to see the production of Strawberry Fields. The filming of the operetta has been professionally shot. It will debut on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 7:30 PM.

In this challenging school year, Justin Pomietlarz, the director of choral activities and the Operetta producer/vocal music director at Amherst Central High School, made the production happen for the students.

This a great way for Tiger Alumni to support the Amherst Operetta Association and the arts in Amherst Schools.

To order the video for streaming and find out more about Strawberry Fields, follow this link.
