Western New York’s only non-profit food truck is ready to serve the public as so many in our community are affected by this unprecedented pandemic. Normally, the truck is readying for regular service beginning in the spring – but this season is different.
Over the past four months, Daily Bread has delivered over 1,500 meals on weekends to needy families in conjunction with the Amherst School District. These meal deliveries will now be extended through April and possibly May, as needed. Each delivery consists of enough food for a family of four to have at least two full meals, consisting of healthy, homemade dishes prepared by our chef – all at no cost, thanks to our generous donors and grants.
In addition to these regular deliveries, Daily Bread will be serving free hot meals from the truck on Thursdays and Sundays from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Those in need may stop by and grab a meal to go. If you are unable to leave your house, and especially for seniors in need, we are offering free delivery within one mile of the sites. Just call (716) 835-0407 for details.
Locations and dates are:
- Thursdays, March 26-April 16, in front of St. Paul’s Church, 4007 Main St., Eggertsville, NY 14226
- Sundays, March 29-April 19, at Windermere Elementary School, 291 Windermere Blvd., Amherst, NY 14226
Stay tuned to our Facebook page for up to date information as things are rapidly changing and we add more opportunities to help the community.
About Daily Bread:
Daily Bread Food Truck is Buffalo’s first and only non-profit food share truck. Our philosophy is based on the “get one, give one” principle: when you purchase certain items from our menu, the money will help us provide a meal to hungry families in our community. 100% of the truck’s overhead costs have been provided by generous donations that allow us to take every dollar beyond supplies and staff costs and put it toward food and hot meals for the communities in and around Buffalo, N.Y.
